CSS Subjects List Compulsory & Optional

The examination will cover the following  the CSS subjects list with each subject carrying the specified marks. There will be two papers of 100 marks each for subjects that total 200 marks. For other subjects, there will be one paper each. Each paper will have a duration of 3 hours. CSS Subjects List Compulsory & Optional

Candidates should anticipate some objective-type questions (MCQs) in both compulsory and optional papers, except for the papers on Essay, Applied Mathematics, and Pure Mathematics. Questions in Urdu or other Pakistani regional languages (Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, and Balochi), as well as in Persian and Arabic, should be answered in the respective languages.

However, questions related to translation between these languages and English should be answered as instructed in the question paper. The papers on Islamic Studies or Comparative Study of Major Religions should be answered in either English or Urdu only. All other papers must be answered in English unless otherwise directed in the question paper. Any violation of these instructions will result in the cancellation of the papers and a score of zero for the affected paper(s).

The minimum standard for optional subjects will be equivalent to an honors degree from a university in Pakistan.
